What technical requirements are there to participate on a course?
To participate in a course you need nothing more than a stable internet connection and the latest version of one of the main internet browsers.
iSE is best viewed using the Chrome or Firefox browsers but is also certified for Internet Explorer and Safari. Unfortunately, the Opera browser is currently not supported so you might experience some minor difficulties if you are using this browser.
What is the difference between Free and Premium levels of access?
Free is the more basic level, providing access to selected free modules and other activities.
Premium gives full access to all modules including videos, tutorials, cases and other teaching materials, as well as to the InnoEnergy CommUnity.
You can upgrade from Free to Premium at anytime until the end of the course.
How do I enrol in a course?
To enrol in a course you first have to register as a user on iSE. You can register whether using your LinkedIn or Google account or providing the information mentioned below:
- Enter your Name
- Enter your Surname
- Enter your e-mail
- Complete the text verification and agree terms of service
- Click "Register"
Once you have created your user account, you can enrol in any available course you like by visiting the course catalogue, and clicking on the blue button to the left side of the course page.
You can have access to sample of the iSE courses for free or you can choose to pay a fee and pursue a premium content and get an accomplishment certificate. In case you choose ‘free’ enrolment and later decide you want to enjoy the whole content of the course, you will be able to upgrade your registration by paying its fee.
How do I activate my account?
When does the course start?
After applying for a course, you will receive a welcome e-mail with all relevant information such as the starting date. Furthermore, your course will appear on ‘My page’ dashboard and by clicking on its name you will access to the course’s related information.
How do I begin my course?
The course will appear on ‘My page’ dashboard and by clicking on its name you will be taken into the course. There you will find a main navigation menu with the activities, forum, documentation, etc.
How can I get help or support with my course?
You can communicate with us and your classmates using the forum, which will be a key element to review questions, answers, and comments from fellow students, as well as posting yours. The course staff will monitor the discussions and will bring any support needed. If you cannot access to the forum or in case you have any question related to your enrollment, please contact email@example.com.
I have forgotten my password. What can I do?
Click on the ‘Forgot password’ link showed in the Sign in page.
You will then be asked to provide your username and by clicking on ‘Send a new password’ you will receive an e-mail with further information.
If you are already signed in, you can reset your password through ‘Change password’ button on ‘My page’ dashboard.
Do you offer any certificates?
Certificates of accomplishment will be issued by InnoEnergy and the organisers of the course for those who have been enrolled in a premium model and who have achieved successfully all mandatory elements of the course. The certificate has a unique URL, so you can share your achievements on your LinkedIn profile or your CV (résumé). It will appear available on “My page” iSE view one week after the course has finished.

A specialization is a series of MOOCs which encompasses different aspects of a same theme and it is aimed to provide you with a more comprehensive learning experience. You can register whether for the whole specialization or for its specific courses separately.

A MOOC is an educational offer and abbreviation for ‘Massive Open Online Course’:
- Massive in the sense that attendance is not limited.
- Open since it can be accessed by anyone anywhere as long as they have an Internet connection.
- Online since it offers interaction possibilities such as social media channels, forums, blogs or RSS feeds to build a learning community.
- Course materials can include videos, readings and other elements structured around a set of learning goals in a defined area of study.
- Includes assessment or evaluation, self-assessment or peer assessment.
- Can sometimes be offered with virtual tutoring classes or even with a blended learning model.

Professional MOOCs, are fee-based, high-quality courses driven by inspiring professors and industry experts.
