Full name:Philipps, Simon


Simon Philipps holds a diploma and a PhD degree in Physics as well as a diploma degree in Business Administration. He joined the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems ISE in 2005 through his work on the numerical modeling of fuel cells and, later, on III–V multi-junction solar cells. Since 2010, he has been a project leader and supports the directors, primarily in the field of photovoltaics. He was appointed Managing Director of the Fraunhofer Energy Alliance in 2015.

Simon Philipps is an expert in PV technology, markets and strategy. He has written several book chapters and journal articles on solar cells and CPV and is regularly involved in cost studies and status reports on PV technology. He is also responsible for EU research funding and related networks and associations and has been very successful in the management and acquisition of research project.
