InnoEnergy webinar: Learning analytics that hit the target

Webinar 1: Learning Analytics that hit the target

About this webinar

InnoEnergy strongly believes in the potential of learning data to support teaching staff and to enhance the learning experience of students. Learning Analytics is a new field at the crossroads of teaching practice and educational research. Through the collection, measurement, analysis and reporting of data about learners interacting in any learning environment, the aim is to better understand and improve the learning process and the learning environment in which it occurs.

To support teachers in applying Learning Analytics in their courses, InnoEnergy has started pilot projects for specific courses helping teachers to find out how their students are really using the online learning material. They can evaluate their students’ progress throughout the semester and identify potential problem spots via learning dashboards. Based on data analysis, deeper insights into the students’ learning behaviour are acquired.

Next to the pilots, we also organise webinars and workshops to get you updated on the current state of Learning Analytics and be inspired by success stories. Find out also how you can take part yourself in the movement towards more data-driven education.

In our first webinar, you will get updated on the current state of learning analytics in higher education based on a systematic literature review. Does learning analytics improve learning outcomes, and support learning and teaching? Is it already deployed widely, and used ethically?
We will also explain the fundamentals of the Open Learning Initiative methodology which builds upon corrective feedback to learners answering questions and which has proven to be successful. Find out how teachers design Learning Analytics ready learning experiences and how click data are used by machine learning to inform learners, teachers and course developers about which parts of the course work and which do not.
